In the spirit of the online family... |
Lead | ||
|
Hi everyone! Perhaps it's nice to get to know each other a little bit better! The thing that annoys me about the internet is the anonimity. Take youtube for example, people write the weirdest things and curse on others for no apparent reason, because no one knows who they are anyway. So, in the spirit of the online family, or community, a topic to introduce yourself to make the forum a nicer and more comfortable place! We know the ages and genders from a lot of members and sometimes the country where they're from. Feel free to write anything about yourself you want to share with us here!

i did write an about me on my profile. but i guess noone reads those :O
my name is Roger. 19 years old. i live in California, USA with my parents and younger (13) sister. originaly from Baja California, Mexico umm i have known about shakira all my life. but didnt become an official fan until i was 11 years old :o. and she was promoting grandes exitos with que me quedes tu xD (i know soo late) i am currently a 2nd year student in college. with an unkown major :s my hobbies are painting, drawing, photographing, and somne graphic design. i always wanted to be in a rock, but my lack of music skills make it hard u.u (i am trying to learn the harmonica though :D) i love going to shows/concerts and meeting my favorite bands :) whenever any of my bands get near my city i am sure to call a few friends and get tickets asap :D my favorite bands/artists are: shakira (duh), my chemical romance, panic! at the disco, AFI, katy perry, green day, fall out boy, cobra starship, VersaEmerge and Automatic Loveletter. but i do listen to a lot more. an array of pops and all types of rocks i would say. mainly modern though. let's see. i'm not a very vocal person :o i am rather introverted and a social mess. possibly why i like expressing what i feel msotly through art and writing/poetry. i follow a straight edge lifestyle (no alcohol/drugs/cigars/casual sex for me kids ;)) i also hate coffee. but thats unrelated. im a pacifist. anti-war/anti-violence. i would love to visit europe some day. im learning some french :) i'm a hopeless romantic. single. heterosexual.. ummm i'm a vampire and a zombie and a cat. =^.^= and im roger :D hope to hear from you all. and know a little more about you :3 http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/valdes.roger XLa Resignación Es Un Deseo Sin PielX ![]() |

Re: feedmeastar, I did read your profile, left a comment, too.
My name is "Jesse", which is one of the roles from my many favorite movies "Free Willy", I love killerwhales! I don't care it's a boy's name, I like it, so I use it. I'm 26 years old, which is kind of old age for being so crazy over a singer, but Shaki is making me lose my mind XDD, I feel like 13 again! I've never been so crazy before! I've just gotten to know Shaki for three months, it all started with "Waka Waka". I know three months is short, but I'm ready to be in the wolf pack for life, and be "loca" for her forever! I used to be a movie geek, highest record is 6 movies a day, but ever since "Waka Waka", I never stayed in the living room for more than 30 minutes, never rent DVDs, only been to the theatre one time, for "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". Now I'd rather stay in my room and enjoy listening to Shaki, or watch her DVDs. I believe all things should be equal, like the social status between men and women, the status between human and animals...,etc. We can end a life for it's skin, meat, and lots of stuff, why can't they do the same? Who are we to decide they should be put to death because they hurt or killed a human being? Anyways, I like the concept of online family, mainly because we have the same interest (Shaki) already, we can chat freely without worrying if you are boring/annoying a friend when you chat about Shaki. Besides, it's nice to know more about Shaki fans from all over the world! So here's my facebook, and twitter Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/?!/profile.php?id=100001033108100 Twitter : http://twitter.com/jessehsu83

Hi everyone
My name is Joanne and I am 23yrs old and live in the UK. I know I don't talk a lot on here but I check this board all the time to keep up to date with news and what other fans think about current Shakira news. I have liked Shakira since she came out with Whenever Wherever as sadly I had never heard of her before due to living in an English speaking country but when I first saw the video & song I was hooked. I studied performing arts at college and then went to study it at university and finally graduated a year ago so I have had a close relationship with music, dance & acting my whole life. I used to sing Shakira's songs for competitions which I loved. I am thankful to Shakira for introducing me to Belly Dance as I have fell in love with the dance since I saw her in Whenever Wherever and I am now running my own Belly Dance business (Metamorphosis Belly Dance) and I love how it has brought joy to so many people here and given them more self confidence. I will finally get to see Shakira live this year and I can't wait. It's going to be a great night. :D xxx |

jessehsu wrote:Haha, I will now, didn't have the time before. Well, where to start... My name is Nirul, I'm a 19 years old guy living in the third largest city in The Netherlands (The Hague, or in Dutch: Den Haag). I have a 24 year old sister. My parents, actually, are from Surinam, a country in South America. Because it was a Dutch colony, the people there speak Dutch too. My great-great grandparents were from India, brought to South America by the Dutch to work in the colony. But I was born here and still live in the same city. I'm now a second year Architecture student at Delft University Of Technology. I enjoy it very much, because it's a very creative study. I also doubted about an economical study, or air and space sciences, but oh well! I first heared of Shakira when Ojos Asi charted here on the top 40. But I became a fan after the release of Whenever, Wherever. I wasn't a HUGE fan, that I became after La Tortura. I really liked WW, UYC and Objection, but didn't know other songs on LS. After the release of La Tortura I got hooked. So I didn't go to TOTM, but I did go to OF Tour in Arnhem, near to the German border. Uhm, I like to do a lot of stuff with my friends, get dinner together, do crazy stuff, see a lot of movies (I have a subscription for the movie theatre, so I go at least once a week) and a lot of other stuff. I really like to travel and I'm starting to grow an interest for photography. Australia is the continent I have yet to visit (and the Middle-East if we count that as a separate continent from Asia and I'm not counting Antartica). I don't really know what to tell you guys further... I'm not used to talk about myself :P So if you want to know anything else, don't hesitate to ask!

So... my name is Stefan, I'm 22 and from Germany. I'd been studying computer science and business administration (in Germany, it's an combinded course of studies). at University of Applied Science Schmalkalden. (it's not one of the big german universities)
I love to listen music, writing songs (Shakira is one the the artists that inspires me), go out with friends and do a lot of other (more or less crazy XD) things. Oh... and I'm a computer geek, which was one of the reasons I started studying computer science and business administration. I became an fan of Shakira back in 2002 after her first performance on tv show Wetten dass..., where she performed Whenever, Wherever. So the frist album I bought was Laundry Service. My first concert of Shakira was during the OFT in Leipzig on March 3rd 2007 (nearly exactly five years after i became a fan XD) which was also my first concert ever and it was just WOW! I'm part of the team of one out of two german fansites about Shakira. But Ok, that's enough from me... If you have any question, just ask me.

Re: Nirul, Wow! That's amazing, so which country or countries in Asia have you been to so far?
Re: Hi, Stefan. So are you going to her upcoming Sale el Sol Tour? And if I have problems with my computer in the future, may I ask you? XDDD (jk) ------------------------------------------------ I think I must be the oldest one in the wolf pack if you are considering by age, and the cub if you are considering by the age of being Shaki's fan.

I'm thinking about visiting Thailand, maybe next year, have to wait for them to clean up the mess for the battle! Oh, I just remembered something for my junior high school history class, is it Netherland the one who called Taiwan "Formosa"? Or is it Spain???

I like the building being shaped like some sort of huge pagoda. It's kind of awkward too, though, it has such a huge height while the surrounding area looks flat. But the sunset pictures are always amazing!

Hi, Joanne, sorry I don't know why I didn't see your post before. Welcome to the wolfpack, and enjoy the show!! Which date will you be going??
Nirul, LOL I never noticed the surrounding areas looking flat, Taipei 101 is the only building I can focus on whether if I'm seeing it on pictures or visiting the actual area, because it's so thin and tall! But I keep wondering, if it's so thin, howcome after all those year of fireworks (we've been using fireworks on it for new years, ever since it's been built), it never fall apart?

Hey there!
I guess I'll do a formal introduction here... I'm Francisco, I am from Puerto Rico. I'm making a degree in Game Art and Design. I've been listening Shakira since Donde Estan los Ladrones. Drawing and games are my passion, hence my career there. I've been drawing since I was born, I am sure, and I started playing games since a little kid (around the age of 5). I moved to the US 3 years ago to pursue my education. So far I;ve been to two shakira concerts. Tour of the Mongoose and Oral Fixation Tour. In a week and a half I'm going to the Orlando show for Sale el Sol Tour and it will be my first time going ground seats, second row from the end of the cat walk, so I'll be right where she is. |
